Ken Habeck, mathematics
teacher at Shoreline Junior College of Seattle, put together a
formula of one 250cc Husqvama
plus alarge dose of riding ability
and a heaping quantity of perseverance to win the Northwest
Scrambles Championship on October 2 in Seattle, Washington.

The October 2nd race was sponsored by tbe Seattle Motorcycle Club
at the Jolly Rogers' Motorcycle track
and attracted a record total of 131
riders with machines from 50cc to
750cc.
The actual championship event
was a combination of eight finalists;
four men riding 250' s and four men
aboard 500 to 750's. Finalists were
chosen from heat races which were
run according to machine size with
tbe first and second place riders
advancing to tbe main event.
As tbe pictures will testify the
race was run on a beautiful indian
summer day. All 131 riders gave
tbeir partisans in tbe crowd a good
sbow in this late season race.
