Neither one was injured but it took awhile for Gosch to get to his feet. sammy took the lead from Dan Haaby on the second lap and was orbiting along until the number eight lap when Ralph White started' one of those familiar late drives, closing fast until the race was stopped. sammy also had a rough time in the heat race when Gene Romero came on fast in the last half-lap to cross the finish line at the same time and produce the first dead-heat finish of the season! Both riders went to the trophy dash with Tanner taking the win and Romero running last. ·Upstart" Amateur, Shorty Seaborne 'clocked a fast enough heat race win to become the first yellow plate rider to sit in the fast four lapper this season. He finished third behind White. Seaborne had things all his own way after missing the last two weeks' action. He won his heat race and then led the final from start to finish.
