A few unsportsmanlike members of the Silver Queens M.C. washed out the Powder Puff event, which had 5 entries signed in. The girls were set to run after the open class. This apparently didn't sit too well with one gal. She found support from her clu b president and these two w.ouldn't run. A little hassle developed * Chuck Hatcher flew 10 earth wllh the flaes, then 10 3rd with Bullaco. ner was Norman Hanson (Yamaha). Kurt Lewis Lightweights M.C. rider was 2nd and local Steve Slagle moved up to 3rd. The 50cc Jr. trophy was taken by Kurt Lewis on a Yamaha, Mike North (Honda) 2nd and Louis Schieff 3rd. 100cc Honors again, went to Danny Sromolla (Honda) reversing the defeat handed him by Bridgestone riding Jay Willey at the Vegas Valley track last week. Mike Chad bum seemed to worry him a little as he led and chased Jim in a couple of heats, but the string stayed intact as my favorite Dirt Digger dug up a little extra and flew in to take the ope n class. I mentioned in an earlier column that if Jim wins next time up he gets the whole trac It. The Vegas Valley M.C. dug up Jim's old cwrse and laid out an -Ascot" type track, on Vegas Blvd. South. , I was una ble to get th em to gi ve up that one and they seemed to have lost the old one.
