Parr Until recently, the only wa:,r to dress fashionably on a motorcycle was to forgo any protection from the elements or the results of an error in our driving wa:,rs. Lately riders have begun to be aware of the importance of both looking good and being ready. Admittedly, Levi's and leathers are very practical but tbey're not Quite in the· best dressed' set yet. Along came Arizona clothing designer Ralph Paracek in recent years with the result that we now have a fair choice of nice clothing to select from. Much of Paracek's 'Parr of Arizona" clothing is Quite attractive while giving some measure of protection. Parr of Arizona now sends word of a new line of lean and clean protective wear to be introduced for this fall. Parr conducts a thri viag mail order trade in items of clothing for fair weather riding that provide what little protection is needed while allowing the rider to mair>tain a neat well-groomed look. This is their first foul weather entry in the clothing sweepstakes. Top of the line is an all-ir>-one tailored suit of Nylon Oxford Twill with a waterproof coating that gives a dull, washable finish. Intended for wear over street clothing, this coverall can be battened down for foul weatber with a collar that turns up and fastens around the neck and hidden straps that close off the wrist and aokle openings. If you prefer separates, Parr has waterproof shirts and jeans. The shirt isof the same waterproofed Nylon oxford twill as the one piece suit and is cut in the rugged military style. At the first sign of foUl weather, you just pull out the square-cut tail, turn up and cinch down the collar and you'll ride on neat and dry. The jeans, of the same coated materiai as the rest of Parr's fall line, has the seat and hip tailored for the man who must straddle a saddle. The legs are tapered to look nice but large enough to fit over a pair of boots. All of Parr's styles are available in a variety of attractive colors for very reasonable prices and are sanforized for shrink' resistance. If you have a clothing prOblem, look into the Parr line. These items are great for travel-neat and light when the weather is dry warm and dry when it isn't. The new line will he available about the first of September from Parr of Arizona at 4407 North 16th St., Dept. CN, Phoenix, Arizona. Gardena, Calif (213) 3n-&166 AKRON, Ohio--sales of motorcycle tires in the U.S. will top the 1.5-million mark in 1966, ten times the sales of 1960, according to A.E. Patterson, manager of cycle tire sales for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Patterson said his estimate was • conservative,' based on demand for tires to equip new motorcycles and on replacement tire sales averaging onehalf tire per cycle per year. Motorcycle sales grew from 45,000 in 1960 to an estimated 433,000 in 1965, the Goodyear spokesman noted, adding that more than 500,000 are expected to be sold in 1966 and close to 750,000 in 1967. Patterson said about 90 per cent of current motorcycle sales are in the lightweight category, the bulk of whic'h are imported. Goodyear is the only major American rubber company with a complete line of motorcycle tires. • • • LOVE AffAl1 By Ray Warner 11IE EAR11I HAS NEVER BEEN SO BEAUTIFUL.
