• • • • • 'VALLEJO By PaWe PresttjEe .In a complete reversal of last week's results, Dick Faria made a comeback by winning, his heat, the Senii-Main, Trophy Dash and Main Event. The man who did the same thing last week, Gus Lauer, had to settle for fourth place behind Dl\VY Bostrom and Dick Douestyne, the second and third place men. From the flag, the lead was taken by little Gus Lauer with Dick Faria, Duane Francisco, Dave Bostrom and Dick Dorrestyne hot on his tail. They played-follow-the-leader for a few laps until Francisco overdid it in his attempt to get by Faria and Lauer and he was passed by' Bostrom and Dorrestyne. ' For the ,rest of the race, Dick Faria, Davy Bostrom and Dick Dorrestyne slowly worked their way past Gus Lauer. During that time, George Curtis got past 'Duane Francisco and wnen the flag fell 'the order was Faria, Bostrom, Dorrestyne, Lauer, Curtis and Francisco. The night's action was marred by three serious accidents. As ofTuesday August 3D, Kenny 'Helling, Jimmy 'Kimura and Al Picken were listed in fair condition. But for the injuries, it was a fine night of racing with all the battles close as the fans have come to expect from these northern California men. The Vallejo riders and fans would like to, see a few more Southern California riders come up to trY for the gold and glory. The few men that have made the trip have either made the main and crashed or not made the main at all. (That sounds like a challenge!)
