This happened right at the end of his first mota, so a call went out for a "loaner.· Chris Hytten from the Lost Angels came up with one from a Sportster. which was quickly put on so that Wilborn could again get alongside his pal C.H. Wheat. But it wasn't to be his day. Larry slid out coming down the hill on his last mota and Wheat took home the goodya nice new trophy to put in his new shop! Forsaking his twin for a Victor, Eoruce Jackson headed the 500 Amateur class, and the 500 Experts are all eagerly waiting to welcome him il1to their ranks as his transfer up becomes imminent. Perris couldn't be beaten for color Sunday as several clubs elected to turn out in force. The crowd also had the pleasure of watching the desert brigade on their specialized rigs mixing it UP with the scramblers and doing right well at it. Among clubs there. all wearing their colors, were the Shamrocks, Prospectors, Hilltoppers (mostly in greens and golds) Gophers, Lost Angels (in blue and gold) and the mixture sprinkled \I ith others including red and white DirtDiggers and"black and white Checkers.
