Competitors numbered 237 and the attendance topped the fourteen hundred mark. As usual, the wee-ones started the night's activities and also as usual they put on a very exciting show. Kirk Brelsford took this one. He was first from the start and nobody came close enough to take it away from him. Meanwhile--back in the pack, a pitched battle was going on for the second and third slots. Steve Muscaten and Chuck Cullom followed Kirk all the line and eventually finished in that order but they had to fight for it. At one point, Cullom was in second place and another time in fourth. But for the time that Cullom was in second place, Muscaten had second aIL sewn up. The 25Qcc Expert go started with Steve Sharps in the number one slot but he held it only for one lap. That is how long it took for Jim adam to work his way up tram filth, way back in the pack. From there it was adam aIL the way finally taking the checker by hall a lap with Steve Sharps and Jerry Pratt following bim home. In the Open Amateur bash, three riders earned cheers from fans as they did battle for the gold. Harley-Davidson mounted Gary Lindstrom was tbe man in this one. He had the number one spot from tbe flat but had to figbt to keep it. Tbe man Gary was fighting aIL the way was Bill Jameson who kept pushing Gary with his Triumph. Tbe third man on tbe list is Lou Navarro who moved into place on the last lap for a squeaker type finisb. Navarro won bis heat last week and took the main to show that he was a win class rider but just couldn't get going this week.
