riders. A good compromise between
Prado Park and a rough scrambles
is tbe way some of tbe riders described it. Tbe promoting club recommended knobbies and tbey were
really needed on the well-wl\tered
course.
Spectators could ask for nothing
more in the way of comfort for tbey
can sit on nice grassy slopes under
many shade trees as they watcb the
action unfolding before tbem. Picnic
bencbes and swimming and fishing
lakes in the area make a race at
this track truly a family affair.
Much of the excitement was provided by tbe sidecar racers who did
not bave quite e'nough room for passing but made many wild attempts
anyway. After all excitement was
over, tbe winners tlJrned out to be
Harley-powered L. Burley and E.
Wade.
More racing, more excitement and
an unexpected winner was found in
the 500cc/Open Expert class. In
this go 'round John Rice stormed in
for the win aboard a 250cc Husqvarna leaving all the bigger machines
chewing up tbe track with their
churning knobbies.
Earlier in the day the Amateur/
Expert main for the popular lOOcc
class was decisively t a ken by
Gilera-mounted Al Guzman. AI's
Gilera has been the subject of some
serious tuning efforts by Mike Wiggly
of Cycle City in Long Beacb and is
outrageously fast.
