SCRAMBLIN AROUND By Maureen Lee We' re sorry to hear that one of our local hots hoes is bei ng ca used some emba rrassment ove r a t rophy he was give n down at Impe ria l Beach. Mistakes will ha ppe n, this we know (all too well) but if t he guys who refe rred to David Ham as " t ha t trophy thie f" when he wal ked i nto a bi ke shop rece ntl y would t hink a little bit before they start saying things like tha t , the worid would be a happier place . Do you really think Da vid would ever ha ve to take a trophy that he didn't win or was give n? He is so consistently a winne r, and ha s been for a fe w seasons that his home must be full of them. For his own ve rsion of the story, see the Letters to the Editor section. Togethe rness Time We know the 500cc Expert class are a c lose-knit bunch , and they're proving it a gain this month with weddings in t hat depart ment . Trail bikes at desert events will run in two classes in 1967: Division I whic h correspo nds with Expe rt , and Divis i on II , whic h is Amateur. Truc ks and people are spread out all over the desert , a nd with rid ers comi ng i nto the area full bore, someone could easlly be injure d. The Competition Committee report brought out the fact that at the Nomads scrambles at P ra do Park, Monte Da rli ng was listed as having finished i n fifth place.
