At this point , Greenle e dropped out due to his fl at ti re and the battle for the lead wa s r e s u me d between McCarley and F riant, followed by Reed P rice on a Triumph. The lead switched back and forth until l ap thr ee , wben McCarl ey had the bead spot with the sam e four close behind . Th en he lost his two minut e le ad-jus t before che ck thre e on the last loop by runnin g out of gas , leaving Friant to take first ove r-al l.
