At 9;3 0 when the fog lifted it was a sunny day . Th e small bikes put on a wonderful show as usual. the show got off to a good start when Jim Murphy powered around the track to win the 50cc moto, But the ra cing had just begu n. for powerful Steve SCott jumped on the track and won the 175-200 expert moto with Lee stumpenhaus close on his bac k wheel. The race that really made the day co mplete was the 500 & open amateur event with Qeo. SCofield and Carl Spotts fighting all the way , they traded spots at every turn but Geo rge fin al ly managed to duck in for the closest fini sh ' tbe fans had seen in a long time .
