This immediately brou ght up a dis cu s s i on by th e club repres entati ve s that lasted ove r an hour and at times grew heated . 1 offer from the Checkers to help th e \0 IIillto ppers re-run the e vent was con s ide red, and the question was ra is ed at j us t what p o i n t in the run it wa s decl ared a no-c ontes t ? P resident J e a n Carter asked Earl F lande rs for his opinion. Earl is one of only two repres ent at ive s of the motorcycle business who regularly attend. The other dealer-entnustast is Bill Martin . Flanders replied that the Hilltoppe rs were not the first club to make a mistake in running an event, and if their chance at re- running was voted down it could possi bly res ult in " the loss of A.M.A. sanctions for Nationals in Southern Calif." . A roll call vote was taken and it was voted 30 - 19 that the Hilltoppers be allowed to re- run the event April 3rd.
