We are indebted to Charlie Kurtz Jr. of the So. Cal Sports Committee for preparing this information and the standings of the under-l00cc trail bikes desert points published in CYCLE NEWS January 20th, 1966. Looking down the list we find international auto racing champion Dan Gurney accumulated 19 points in his first year of desert riding to earn #257. Look for a CYCLE NEWS interview with Dan very soon. AMA Referee Bert Brundage moved up from ISb to 146 in the desert and promoter-columnist Wes Cooley trimmed his 1966 number 101 digits by virtue of scoring four points last year. In the next few issues complete Dist. 37 sportsman points standings for Desert, Scrambles, Competition Clubs and Sidehacks will appear. 2u. 294x David A. Robertson 25. 370x 1'iilliam L.
