4 EAST VS WEST One of the Southland's best known and well-established Harley-Davidson dealers has placed into competition another Fu el bike to stand up against the assault team of Harleys being sent from the East Coast for the Feb, 19th drag meet at Lion's. The dealer/sponsor is Laidl aws of San Gabriel and the rider/owner is Howard Allen. Sunday at Fontana, Allen turned 11.22 and 128.58. He does not plan on going slower, only faster! The Harley is a 61 cu. in. and running on nitro. Another new bike is Mel Disharron 's new dragster. At Lion's he turned in the 12 second bracket on gas, The bike has been very carefully constructed and is extremely clean, yet "Dish" is not satisfied and promises some changes.
