2 Voice of California HEARTENING CONTROVERSY Received the first issue of CYCLE NEWS for 1966 tod ay and enjoyed it mucho, Was especially heartened to see the inclusion of the thought-provoking article "CONTR OVERSY", this type of open discussion of our problems is a healthy one for the betterment of motorcycling. I believe something should be done for the fun- loving off the road riders , and the rapid disappearance of the ir playgrounds. What motorcycling group or groups should spearhead a drive of this kind I don't know. Perhaps a combination of Dist. 37 Sports Committee and the Dealers Assoc ., with club s writing the appropriate officials for backing up proposals. I believe CYCLE NEWS is in the best position to get the ball rolling with your all-round covera ge. Sure am glad to see California with a bealthy weeldy like CYCLE NEWS. NORMAN WELLER Bishop EDITOR - We haoe some projects in mind to help secure off the road riders' rights. At present there is no official local dealer association except for single brand associations.
