With the Master of Bay Mare, Dusty
Cop page running the show, ab ly assisted by
his fellow club members, Open Expert
glory was up for grabs. Loren Andrews,
ridin g out of Triumph Burb ank , both ou trode and outpowered all the rest to win
the class going away strong.
He was followed in by Jim Bassey, on a
T riumph, who had ea rlier won the 500cc
Expert ca tegory on a BSA. Some guys
woul d rather swit ch .
A welco me sight among the ac tion- w as
the return of Bruce Jackson, now astride
a Mat chless single, and looking good as he
took second place in the 000 Expert motocross tabu lations.
T he scorekeepers claimed there were no
350cc expert races, but we seem to remembe r D e\Vayne Keeter w inning away on
what looked like a 350cc Honda.
In the 500cc Novice category, Chuck
Berry ca me down from District 36 with his
BSA twin to show the way to the be ginners. Terry H unt ga ve Berry a race in one
moto-cross, but there was no stopping the
northern raider.
