Local authorities cooperated with the riders and the rough event was smoothly won by Malcolm Smi th on a 250cc Greeves. One rider was heard to comment that the course was well mapped and he liked it. Certainly the water crossing which had started the day so damply was welcomed by the hot and dusty riders at the end of the trail.
