VOLUME 57 ISSUE 22 JUNE 2, 2020 P73
You are festooned with a plethora of elec-
tronics in the Streetfighter suite, but if you're
used to what's on the Panigale, nothing will
be of great surprise. Bosch six-axis IMU,
Ohlins Smart EC2 suspension, Ducati Trac-
tion Control, Wheelie Control, Slide Control,
Launch Control, up and down Quickshifter,
Cornering ABS, Engine Brake Control and—
no cruise control, which, for a bike costing
this much and designed for "real world" rid-
ing, is a major flaw.
Regardless of that omission, the Street-
fighter's electronic suite is delightfully easy
to use and navigate. Its layout is the same
as the Panigale's, but to understand and
appreciate just what this bike can do
on the electronics front will take
several weeks of ownership, not
a simple two-hour test ride. I
often wonder just what else
the Ducati engineers need
to fit into an electronics
suite before it becomes
too much, as I struggle to
think of what other per-
formance benefits they
could come up with.
There are 208
Italian horses
lurking in them
cases. But despite
this hugely
impressive fact,
the Streetfighter is
still plenty capable
of sedate, cruisy
riding as it is at
going fast.
