IIIMY OWN RACE:
51 KALEB DEKEYREL
1-1 TWINS CUP
"I helped myself out quite a bit today
with ge ng a way be er start," De-
Keyrel said a er race two. "I think
at one point yesterday I was back in
fourth or fi h. So, I definitely knew to-
day that Rocco was going to try and do
the same thing and get a gap because
obviously at Road America you get that
gap and then everybody else is pulling
you backwards and that guy out front
is running away with it. So, I knew I
had to try to be that guy as much as
I possibly could. It was such a weird
race because I was faster than Rocco
in some sec ons, and he was faster
than me in others. So, we were kind of
yo-yoing throughout the lap."
25 DOMINIC DOYLE
1-1 JUNIOR CUP
"Today, I didn't really know what to
expect going into the race," Dominic
Doyle said a er race two. "Rocco was
quick in warmup this morning. We
were close all race. I knew that it was
just going to come down to the last
lap. The mistake, I thought actually it
would hurt me. I thought he would
come by. I guess it kind of worked in
my favor, so I'm happy about it."
STOCK INTO SUPERBIKE
The MotoAmerica Superbike field was
bolstered by arrival of the selected
Stock 1000 competitors as part of
the Superbike Cup, and they did
themselves proud with PJ Jacobsen
turning in fast laps on his Celtic Rac-
ing Ducati Panigale V4 R. The New
Yorker was in the hunt for the last po-
dium position in race two and finished
fifth, with fellow class riders Cameron
Peterson home in seventh and Corey
Alexander in eighth. The Stock 1000
riders get free entry into the Super-
bike class and are eligible for both
Stock 1000 and Superbike purse pay-
outs, plus a free set of tires for the top
five Stock 1000 riders in each Super-
bike race. The stock motors showed
they are more than capable of mixing
it up with the full blown Superbikes on
a far smaller budget, which begs the
question, why not just make them all
Stock 1000 bikes in 2021?
