ROAD RACE FIM NORTH AMERICAN ROAD RACING CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1 / MAY 29-31, 2019 ROAD AMERICA / ELKHART L AKE, WISCONSIN P66 Superbike Saturday 1. Cameron Beaubier (Yam) 2. Mathew Scholtz (Yam) 3. Jake Gagne (Yam) 4. Bobby Fong (Suz) 5. Kyle Wyman (Duc) Sunday 1. Cameron Beaubier (Yam) 2. Jake Gagne (Yam) 3. Josh Herrin (BMW) 4. Kyle Wyman (Duc) 5. PJ Jacobsen (Duc) Escalante, once again, showed his class, taking his second career win in as many days on the Graves-tuned Kawasaki, 16-seconds clear of the pack. The Mexican headed home Brandon Paasch and a very sore Sean Dylan Kelly, who would later be promoted to second when Paasch was disqualified after the race for his machine being underweight. That moved RiderzLaw Aguilar Racing's Jason Aguilar up to a surprising third with Nate Minster (TSE Racing Yamaha) and Lucas Silva (M4 Ecstar Suzuki) rounding out the top five. You have to congratulate Kaleb DeKeyrel (51), who once again got the better of Rocco Landers and Jackson Blackmon (18) at the line to take his second win of the weekend and first double in MotoAmerica Twins Cup competition. The Yamaha rider capitalized on his machine's strong points on the straights, as well as his turn of speed in the first half of the circuit, to fend off Rocco Landers, who had to once again suffer the indignity of a close loss. This time, it was 0.001 of a second that was the difference. The clincher for Landers was that of the four races he contested over the weekend (two in Junior Cup and two in Twins Cup) he placed second every time with a combined total loss time of just 0.092 of a second.
