S ince this new ~ DOrt only takes a funbike and a little gasoline it may become a popular pasttime. There are certainly more rabbits in California than foxes . And, we'd wager, more fun bikes t han horses. CARLSBAD OPENS Sandy Belond of Indianapolis fame, owner and operator of Carlsb ad Raceway. Carlsbad, Calif., announces t he opening of San Diego Country's new road race course, the approximately two miles in length, completely paved, with nine turns. The course will utilize the drag strip for a s t r a ig h taw ay where dragsters have obtained speeds of over 200 miles per hour. The course is 95 % visible from the grandstands place throughout the . \ ~. _ •.u course. Concessions and ample parking are provided . The opening event will be a grand prix motorcycle road race, sanctioned by the American Cycle Association (ACA) and promoted by W. S. Cooley, S und ay , Oct. 10. All international classes, including the 100cc and the very popular production class will be featured .
