Wrapping It Up
We are very pleased with the results of this project. All the items
selected performed as we hoped and made the CRF450L
more versatile and enjoyable. We purposely kept the motor and
exhaust stock to keep it quiet, durable and street legal. It would
be nice to remove some weight and improve the performance
a little with an aftermarket exhaust system, but with the locked
down ECU, we decided to keep things simple and stuck with the
original system. The stock suspension is good as is for off-road
exploration and rough trails, and the bike is comfortable for all-
day exploration. While some of these items are specific for the
Honda, many are universal or have variations for other brands/
models of bikes and would be equally good there. Now we have
a summer full of exploration ahead of us.
We found that
it doesn't take
much to make an
already good dual
sport bike such
as the Honda
CRF450L even
better.
