Alex Marquez Wins Misano Virtual MotoGP
A
lex Marquez (Repsol Honda) has
won his second Virtual MotoGP after
coming out on top in a last-lap battle with
his brother, Marc (Repsol Honda), at the
Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli.
Third place went to Valentino Rossi
(Monster Energy Yamaha), who took his
first podium in the video game series after
Fabio Quartararo (Petronas Yamaha SRT)
crashed on the last lap.
It was a typical crash-strewn affair, with
the first corner seeing Maverick Vinales
(Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP) and
Francesco Bagnaia (Pramac Racing)
crashing out after some contact with
Takaaki Nakagami (LCR Idemitsu Honda).
Quartararo assumed the lead but crashed on
lap two, with Alex Marquez taking over at the front.
Next, it was Alex's turn to crash after contact with
the remounted Quartararo, Marc Marquez now tak-
ing over the lead.
It came down to a last corner duel between the
two brothers as Marc ran slightly wide on the exit
leading onto the pit straight, with Alex sneaking
through to take the win. CN
Alex Marquez held off brother Marc in another
farcical Virtual MotoGP encounter.
