VOL. 50 ISSUE 16 APRIL 23, 2013 P63 D CHAMPIONSHIP Eli Tomac (1) had what seemed like a sure win going until he fell. ley was closing in for the last podium position in the final laps but would come up just a tad short. "It was a weird day," Roczen stated. "Practice didn't go so well, but I usually don't stress or worry about practice. Then I went down twice in the heat race and barely made the main in that one. I got like a 15th gate pick and the start was muddy, but I ended up fourth around the first corner. The track was tricky with the ruts and stuff, and I can't think of any mistake I made, it was all about smart racing. It's just 15 laps and it's a short race and I want to stay healthy. I rode a lot of outdoors during the break so I think that helped with my speed today here in Supercross." "The track was getting better during the main, but I just hit some ruts and it threw me," Tomac said. "Luckily I was far enough ahead of third, but now I've got my work cut out. I have to win the last two and hope something happens, but I'll just go for wins from here on out." Osborne crossed the line in third for his first podium of the season and said, "It was a long break and I did some off-road stuff and some GNCCs, so I felt comfortable tonight. We've also been testing outdoors so I have been riding a lot. It feels good to come out of here with a podium." The charge of the night went to Seeley who finished fourth but almost had Osborne at the end. "I started way back and just rode forward the whole time," said the 2011 Seattle winner. "This place has been good to me and it's not like I'm a mud specialist, so I don't know what it is, but I do like it here." Rattray crossed for his best finish of the season in fifth, while HRT Honda privateer Austin Politelli, once again, beat a slew of factory supported riders as he finished sixth. Sipes ended up seventh with a case of major arm pump in his first race since A2, and J-Star KTM's Joey Savatgy was eighth. Martin Davalos was ninth after being in the mix early and washing out, and Rockstar Racing Jason Anderson rounded out the top 10. Roczen now has a 20-point lead over Tomac going into Salt Lake next weekend. Seeley is 30 points back in third and Osborne moved past Anderson with his podium position for fourth. CN RESULTS 450 1.
