2019 Suzuka 8 Hours Documentary
T
he Suzuka 8 Hours is the most
famous race inside Japan and an
enormously important venue for the
Japanese manufacturers.
Last year it was drama all the way
to the flag, with pre-race favorites,
the Kawasaki Racing Team of Jona-
than Rea, Leon Haslam and Toprak
Razgatlioglu, falling out of the lead
on spilled oil, only for the race to be
declared a red flag, thus handing
them an emotional victory.
This documentary is a look inside
the KRT pitbox, and shows off just
what a big deal the Suzuka 8 Hours
is in Japan. CN

Modifies Schedule
I
n the light of the unprecedented global
health crisis, the FIM Endurance World
Championship has modified its calendar
and taken steps to protect teams. Eurosport
Events, the championship promoter, together
with the FIM, has revised the FIM EWC calendar
taking government restrictions into account.
In view of the current lockdown, with bans on
public gatherings and restrictions on the movement
of people, the 8 Hours of Oschersleben, scheduled
to take place on June 6 in Germany, cannot take
place. The event has been canceled and will not be
rescheduled.
The 2019-2020 FIM Endurance World Champi-
onship will therefore restart in Japan on July 19 at
the Suzuka 8 Hours for the Formula EWC class,
with the EWC and Superstock teams then converg-
ing on France for the 24 Heures Motos on
August 29-30, 2020.
The FIM and Eurosport Events have de-
cided to include the 2020 Bol d'Or as the
fifth race of the calendar and the finale of the
ongoing season. CN
