Chase Sexton struggled a bit on the
outdoor-style Daytona SX circuit, but
he s ll managed second place and
extended his championship lead. "I ex-
tended the points lead, which is good,"
Sexton said. "I struggled all day. We're
struggling with a bike setup that would
work all day on an almost outdoor
track, and we just didn't find it. In the
main event, we made another small
change, but Garre [Marchbanks] was
riding really well. I was pu ng in a lot
of charges, and he rode really well.
You can't take anything away from
him. He rode very well tonight. I'm just
going to try to come back next week
and get another win. I'm frustrated
with today—it was not my day—but I
extended my points lead, so..."

3RD 250SX
Jeremy Mar n was the top qualifier at
Daytona and was hoping he could put
his motorcycle on top of the box and
win the event, but it wasn't to be. "I
wouldn't say I'm happy," Mar n said.
"But I feel like I rode well and managed
the best I could do tonight. I wheelied
a li le bit out of the gate, then got
into the sand sec on and a bunch of
250SX East
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit
Kawasaki's Garrett Marchbanks
won his heat race earlier in the
night, then got the holeshot in
the main event and immediately
began pulling away. Geico Hon-
da's points leader Chase Sexton
got into second on lap two and
couldn't do much with March-
banks out front. Marchbanks
held firm and took his first-ever
professional supercross victory
over Sexton, and his teammate
Jeremy Martin, the latter of
whom had to fight his way back
forward to third from about eighth
place on lap one.
"It was crazy," Marchbanks
said. "Right off the start, I haven't
