IN THE WIND P46 Triumph Rocket 3 Rockets to New Record T he Triumph Rocket 3, which we tested here, has set a new record for the fastest time to 60 mph for a bike manufactured by Triumph. At a private test at Cartagena in Spain, a pre-production Rocket 3 scorched to a new 0-60 mph time of just 2.73 second, putting it on par with some supercars 20 times its price. "Triumph has once again dem- onstrated truly outstanding capa- bility," said Paul Stroud, Triumph's Chief Commercial Officer. "With the new Triumph acceleration record achieved by the Rocket 3 R, we again enter uncharted ter- ritory because never before has a Triumph motorcycle reached such an incredible acceleration. Our goal was to showcase the exceptional performance of the Rocket's unique, all-new 2500cc triple powerplant. We have now achieved this, making the entire team incredibly proud. With the Rocket 3 lineup, we have con- sistently shown that we can build the highest capacity production motorcycles, capable of offer- ing incredible performance and capability in return." CN He may be a big boy, but the Triumph Rocket 3 can certainly get up and boogie.
