think there were some things we
could have done differently. The
things that need to be done and
just haven't done so far. I think as
soon as we get that stuff figured
out, we'll be there. I know I've
got the speed. It's just a few little
things. Those bikes were literally
bone stock today. We put after-
market forks on and a couple
parts. If we had had what we
needed I think the results would
have been, or could have been
different."
Witkowski rounded out the top
five, which was perhaps one of
I probably should have tried to
make a couple passes earlier,
and maybe I could have stayed a
little closer to Kailub and Ricky.
But overall, I had a good day. I
just need to put the start of the
race together and I can be up
there every weekend."
Steward put the Sherco into
fourth at the finish, despite not
getting his race bike until the
weekend before the race.
"I felt like at the pace we were
running on a track that rough,
I was a little far from where I
needed to be," said Baylor. "I
I hit my head pretty hard. I was
just like, 'okay, cool down, man.
Just ride your own race; you got
a good gap on third. Just try to
pick off laps and hopefully come
in for the podium,' and that's
what we did. I'm super stoked."
After getting off to disastrous
starts to the last two seasons,
Strang was pleased to start this
year off on the box.
"Compared to the last few
years, this is the perfect start for
me," said Strang. "The start of
the race I kind of just settled in
behind a couple of guys where
Becca Sheets won the Women's Pro class.
