IN THE WIND P36 WorldSSP Day One Andrea Locatelli (Bardahl Evans Bros Yamaha) took the fastest time of the first day of testing at Phillip Island with a best time that put him 0.336 of a second ahead of the next nearest chal- lenger, 2019 World Champion Randy Krummenacher. A strong MV day saw Raffaele De Rosa third fastest, just behind his teammate. Isaac Vinales (Kallio Racing Yamaha) placed fourth ahead of Lucas Mahias, the first Kawasaki rider in the rankings. Jules Cluzel had an issue that held back his overall lap count in the afternoon session, leaving him sixth on the GMT94 Yamaha. All-time WorldSSP legends Ten Kate Racing saw their lone rider Steven Odendaal seventh on the EAB R6 Yamaha. Mahias' new teammate Philipp Ottl was eighth, Corentin Perolari (GMT94 Yamaha) ninth and the top ten of the 23 riders in Aus was Hannes Soomer (Kallio Rac- ing Yamaha). Oliver Bayliss, a wild card for the Cube Racing Yamaha team was finally 16th. One more day of testing remains. Gordon Ritchie Marquez Re-signs With HRC M arc Marquez and the Honda Racing Corpora- tion have come to a new four- year agreement in MotoGP, which means the eight-time World Champion will be a Honda rider until at least the end of the 2024 season. So far, Marc Marquez has claimed 56 victories, 95 podiums and 62 pole posi- tions with his RC213V in the premier class. "I am very proud to an- nounce my renewal with Honda Racing Corporation for the next four years," Marquez said. "Honda gave me the opportunity to arrive in the MotoGP class with a factory bike in 2013. Since the first year we have achieved success together and I am very happy to continue being part of the Honda family. HRC gives me the confidence to extend this partnership to obtain our common goal and continue our story of success."
