"I've been working a lot
harder on sprints this year, and I
was able to piece it all together,"
said Oliveira. "I felt great on the
moto section and just tried to
stay smooth on the off-road sec-
tion where Taylor was a little bit
better than me."
"Dante was riding really well,
and it was all I could do to try to
cost Robert the chance for the
win. Oliveira edged Robert out
for the win by just 4.3 seconds!
The overall victory was espe-
cially satisfying for Oliveira, who
has spent the past two years
in Robert's shadow in both
the WORCS Series and in the
WORCS Sprint Enduro Cham-
pionships. He finally emerged
from that shadow with master-
ful work in the Moto tests, as
Dalton Shirey
kept the two
riders ahead of
him just in his
sights to finish a
solid third.
