IIIMY OWN RACE:
le . I was happy with how my day
went. I was pre y consistent through-
out the day, but I just really didn't get
good starts tonight. I just li ed my
body up a li le bit too much, and I
was just too deep in the pack. So, I had
to make my way closer to the front,
and then ul mately, I just tucked the
front end a er the triple back there,
so that cost me a lot of me. I'm just
thrilled to be back on the podium in
third place. I always appreciate being
up here because on the weekends,
like last weekend, when I'm far away
from it, it's not so nice. So, no red
plate now, but I'm just trying to fight
back forward, keep a posi ve mindset,
and work during the week to try to
get some consistency and try to be up
there from the beginning on, because
those guys were just too far gone."
51 JUSTIN BARCIA
4TH 450SX
Jus n Barcia might not have go en the
recogni on he deserved at the end of
the night, but the Yamaha rider put in
what was one of the best rides of the
night, coming from outside the top 15
to fourth in the main event. And this
came a er a massive crash in prac ce.
"I had a pre y scary crash in prac ce,
so it was good to walk away from that.
My hand just slipped off the bar over
the triple, and I went flying. This track
was difficult. I wasn't expec ng it to be
so hard-packed. We made some good
changes going into the night, but I got
another one of those bad starts in the
main. I was able to charge through the
pack and got fourth place. It was hard to
pass out there, but I was able to make it
work. All in all, I gained some confidence
going through the pack like that."
