ing weekend in Tampa, Florida.
NO 450 FOR FERRANDIS
There was talk prior to the start of
the season that both Geico Honda's
Chase Sexton and Monster Energy/
Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha's
Dylan Ferrandis might race the
450SX class for a few East-Coast
rounds in preparation for moving
up to the class in 2021, but Sexton
ended up breaking his collarbone
and missing the 250SX West se-
ries, which kept him from following
through as he'll be defending his
250SX East title instead. As for
Ferrandis, he's planning to spend
the bulk of the 250SX West hiatus
working on outdoor settings on his
YZ250F in preparation for the MX
Nationals, which begin in May.
Briefly...
Roczen, however, still leads
the championship but by only
one point over Tomac, as the
series heads east to Tampa,
Florida, for the next race.
Webb's successful night not only
vaulted him up to third in the
points standings but also cut the
gap between he and Roczen in
half, from 18 points last week to
now just nine points.
In fact, as the series leaves
California and heads to Tampa,
Florida, the top five in the cham-
pionship are separated by just 17
points.
250SX West
In the 250SX West main event,
Michael Mosiman (Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna) grabbed the
holeshot and led early in front of
Austin Forkner (Monster Energy/
Pro Circuit Kawasaki) and Dylan
Ferrandis (Monster Energy/
Yamalube/Star Racing Yamaha).
Forkner fought his way by Mosi-
man on lap five, and Mosiman
got a bit too aggressive and tried
to get Forkner right back, only to
miss his pivot in the turn before
the finish-line jump, which made
him unable to jump the obstacle
