Ducati "Struggling" Says Petrucci
T
he factory Ducati team "strug-
gled" to exhibit the same
searing pace as its rivals in the
Sepang MotoGP test, according
to team rider Danilo Petrucci.
The Italian finished day three
in Malaysia in sixth, with team-
mate Andrea Dovizioso down in
14th, the latter concentrating on
race pace rather than outright
one-lap speed.
"For sure, in the lap time, I am
not so fast," Petrucci said. "I am
not too far from the lead but one
year ago I remember we were
four Ducatis [up front], I did the
record lap, but it's not the thing
that we are looking for.
"I think for example Maverick
and Marc do completely another
type of work, and I think they are
the two fast riders, also Espar-
garo is very fast, Rins, [Fabio]
Quartararo.
"There are a lot of riders able
to ride more than 10 laps in
[1m]59[s]. And we're struggling
to keep this pace."
It wasn't all bad for Ducati, as
Pramac riders Jack Miller and
Francesco Bagnaia were both
regulars inside the top 10, with
Bagnaia eventually ending the
test fourth fastest and the fastest
of all Ducati riders.
