does, but he's been super locked-
in lately—so I knew I was going to
have to make a move around Ken. Eli
wasn't going to sit in third the whole
me. So, that's where my head was,
but Eli got me before I was able to
get Ken. I felt really good physi-
cally all day, but I really didn't get a
chance to ride this week that much
because of the back [injury] thing
from last weekend, and I think that
contributed to the arm-pump I got
tonight. I got crazy bad arm-pump,
and then Cooper [Webb] came up
on me, and I knew he'd be strong
at the end, so I basically let him by
because I didn't have anything le to
give. I damned near whisky-thro led
into the face of the jump before the
finish line, and I just rode it on in
from there. I'm more stoked with
this week, honestly, than I was even
at Anaheim 1 when I got second,
because I felt like I rode closer to my
poten al."
1 COOPER WEBB
2ND 450SX
Cooper Webb caught fire in the last
half of the Oakland 450SX main
event and grabbed his best finish of
the year with a last-turn pass on Ken
Roczen. "I finally just raced ahead
tonight," Webb said. "I think I've just
been kind of conserva ve and not
laying it out there like all of these
guys have been, so today and tonight
was a much be er direc on—we
fought hard there at the end, but we
s ll need a li le bit more there at
the beginning. But overall, I'm pre y
happy, and I feel like I'm in a good
spot moving forward."
