incredible distance, and then
went head-first into the face
of a double jump, knocking
himself silly and breaking his
collarbone.
Ferrandis took the win,
with his teammate (and points
leader) Justin Cooper hang-
ing on for second place, and
TLD/Red Bull KTM's Bran-
don Hartranft coming in third
for his second podium finish
in a row.
On the podium, Ferrandis
was met with a cacophony
of boos from the partisan
crowd, and the AMA reward-
ed him for his effort with a
suspended $3000 fine and a
12-month probationary period
for his rough riding. The
fine will be collected if he's
determined to ride too rough
during the next 12 months.
"Got a good start, but we
banged bars with Austin [For-
kner] in the first turn, and I
lost a couple places," Ferran-
dis said. "After, I just found a
good rhythm and came back,
and Jett Lawrence was pretty
far in front, and I was behind
Brandon Hartranft finished
on the 250SX podium for the
second time in a row.
