SUPERCROSS MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS SERIES, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 3 / JANUARY 18, 2020 ANGEL STADIUM / ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA P64 go in the race, Lawrence went down when he lost traction entering a rhythm section. He was up pretty quickly, but the crash cost him over eight seconds. Almost unbelievably, he still had a few seconds to spare over Ferrandis when he got back going, but Ferrandis could see Lawrence and began to reel the rookie in. On the last lap, Ferrandis tried to shove his way by Lawrence a couple times, but Lawrence was stubborn, to say the least. Fer- randis finally solidified his hold on the lead with two straightaways left in the race, but Lawrence refused to back down and sent it through the final section of whoops as hard as he could in an at- tempt to find an inside line in the last turn and take the lead back to collect his first-ever main event win. Instead, Lawrence ended up dropping the cuit Kawasaki) on lap three to run third behind the Geico Honda duo out front. Then, just before the halfway point, Fer- randis got impatient as he was searching for a way around Craig and made an aggressive move to the inside of Craig in the 90-degree turn after the finish- line jump and the two came together; Ferrandis laid it down on the inside while Craig high-sided and was sent tumbling. Craig got up limping, but okay (although he couldn't re-enter the race since his handlebars were mangled in the crash), and Ferrandis got up pretty quickly and re-entered the race, having lost about six seconds in the crash. All of a sudden, the young phenom Lawrence had a seemingly insurmountable lead, but there was still more drama to come. With three laps to Both Christian Craig (62) and Lawrence led at one point of the 250SX main event, but both riders finished out the night on the ground.
