duo who'd started on the first
row aboard their Stevens Off-
road Racing/Nitro Mousse/Fly
Racing KX450.
At the finish, however, the
Hintz/Hunter entry claimed third
with a final-lap push, the Ashton/
Stevens pair settling for fourth in
4:33:11.6.
Nick Colangeli/Craig Owen,
Jr./Nick Stover rounded out the
top five overall (and Open Pros)
in 4:34:51.3.
Other class winners included
defending class champs Clint
Braun, Carl Maassberg and
Jason Trubey in Over 30 Pro
who finished seventh overall
in 4:42:58.1 aboard their C&J
Equipment Racing Husky and
399cc Pro winners Carter Klein
and Mason Klein who were
eighth overall in 4:47:43.4.
Carter ended up riding the last
two laps straight instead of just
lap two as Mason had crashed
near the end of the first lap and
hit his head fairly hard. "I was
really proud of him," Mason said.
A possible factor may have been
running the suspension from
Carter's KTM 150 XC on their
Klein Industrial Services 250 XC
as the 250's components were
leaking.
Dakota Kilbride, Richard Pratt
and Nick Robertson finished
ninth overall and first Experts
while winning the Open Expert
class aboard their Robertson
Racing CRF450X.
Will Heiss got the Over 40 Pro
victory and 13th overall aboard
his Moose Racing-backed Husky
with Zach Myers just six seconds
behind him in winning Ironman
Pro on his TBT Racing KTM.
