51 JUSTIN BARCIA
2ND 450SX
Jus n Barcia revealed that he was feel-
ing less than 100 percent on the day
but s ll managed a second-place fin-
ish. "It was a pre y tough day for me,"
Barcia said. "I was really sick all week,
and I just had to be mentally tough
and push through the difficul es I was
having today. My heat race went really
well. I got a bad start, but I fought
through the pack and got up to third. I
made some really great passes, so that
was awesome. In the main event, I got
a much be er start and quickly moved
into second. I was pushing really hard,
but tonight the best I had was second.
I rode really well, considering. I felt
like I rode be er today than I did in
Anaheim. I just unfortunately was a
li le under the weather. So, all in all, a
really good day. The team did a great
job with the motorcycle and se ng it
up. I'm really looking to get be er this
week and feeling be er for Anaheim."

for the conditions (his big crash
in 2017 is often blamed on his
preference for softer suspen-
sion settings). He softened it up
between rounds, and it seems

dominant in St. Louis on his way
to winning his 12th 450SX main
event of his career.
