IN THE WIND P52 Elias Joins M4 Ecstar Suzuki For 2020 T oni Elias will race for M4 Ecstar Suzuki in the 2020 MotoAmerica Superbike Championship. Elias is the 2017 MotoAmerica Cham- pion and fourth on the all-time winner's list with 32 MotoAmerica victories in just four seasons, so it's not exactly surpris- ing the Spanish legend will front Su- zuki's main team, once again, now that Yoshimura Suzuki has closed its doors. "I am excited for this new way and happy to build something together with Suzuki and Team Ham- mer. The goal is to keep performing at the same high level, continuing to win races, earn the podi- um, and fight for the championship. We have a lot of work to do as the competition will be strong, so we know we must do a nice job and have a good effort. We are very determined, and I am happy to get this opportunity." Prior to coming to MotoAmerica, Elias was the 2010 Moto2 World Champion and a Grand Prix race winner in the MotoGP, Moto2, 250cc and 125cc World Championships. No word has been released on the second rider at M4 Ecstar Suzuki. CN Tony Elias will once again front Suzuki's MotoAmerica efforts. John McGuinness Joins Kawasaki For TT2020 I sle of Man TT legend John McGuinness will join the Quattro Plant Bournemouth Kawasaki squad for the 2020 Isle of Man TT races, replacing BMW- bound James Hillier. McGuiness will race the same Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR machinery that's used by the team in the British Superbike Championship. McGuinness has a total of 23 wins at the Isle of the Man TT Races, a figure only bettered by the late Joey Dunlop, whilst his tally of 47 podiums at the TT is the highest. He was also the outright lap record holder around the 37.73-mile Mountain Course from 2004-2013, regaining the accolade in 2015 when he lapped at a personal-best speed of 132.701 mph. He will face extremely tough competi- tion with Peter Hickman (Smith's BMW) returning for another year and the tantalizing prospect of the first 136-mph lap in the cards if conditions are perfect. CN John McGuinness will go to Team Green for TT2020.
