IN THE WIND P36 Yamaha Tenere 700 Priced at $9999 Y amaha's extremely long awaited Tenere 700 adventure motorcycle will be priced at a very respectable $9999 when it lands in the U.S. for the 2021 model year, Yamaha announced at the recent Long Beach Motorcycle Show. The Tenere 700 has just been launched in Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Europe, but due to production requirements, the U.S. market will not be served until 2021, with bikes expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2020. To say the Tenere is overdue would be a gross understatement. The company has teased the model, which uses the Yamaha MT-07 twin- cylinder motor, for the past three years, and we expected these machines to be in showrooms this year—the same as the rest of the world. Instead, we'll have to wait another year, but Yamaha's pric- ing at least makes it extremely competitive against the KTM 790 Adventure and Adventure R, and BMW's F 850 GS. CN The Yamaha Tenere should be a smash hit, when it eventually gets here. Read our Review of the Yamaha 700 Tenere.
