final, Salinas admitted that
she had no idea that Savoie
was having issues in the other
lane. She simply went about
her business and was as sur-
prised as anyone to see the
win light come on in her lane.
"I had no idea anything was
wrong," Salinas said. "I really
just try to focus on what I'm
doing and not worry too much
about my opponent. I made
a really poor run in the final,
but it was enough. This is
just proof that dreams come
true, and I just feel fortunate
to have the support of [team
owners] Greg Underdahl and
Gary Stoffer, and [mentor]
Karen Stoffer and my family.

"On Saturday I was just
fighting just to qualify, I never
thought I would be able to
pull this off," Salinas said. "I
came into [Sunday] saying,
whatever happens, happens.
Win or lose, I get to end
the season on a high note.
To be here right now in this
moment is not something I
ever expected to happen this
soon. I'll be honest, not a
single run I made today was
a spectacular run. The final
round was probably one of
the worst runs I've made all
weekend, but it was enough
