MOTOGP FIM MOTOGP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 19 / NOVEMBER 15-17, 2019 RICARDO TORMO CIRCUIT / VALENCIA, SPAIN P60 of many to crash out in treacherous- ly cold conditions and with retiring teammate Jorge Lorenzo contribut- ing a final three points, the Repsol team ended up 13 points ahead. The only race to run the full dis- tance in an incident-packed day at a cold and windswept Ricardo Tormo circuit outside Valencia was equally eventful, with several crashes on a surface that made it difficult to keep temperature in the tires, dual-com- pound notwithstanding. Making the finish was, in itself, something of an achievement while securing a lap record in the process made it all the more impressive. IIIMY OWN RACE: 99 JORGE LORENZO 13TH MOTOGP "Today was a special day," Jorge Lorenzo said. "On the grid, I had a very different feeling to all my other races, and certainly in the opening laps, I was more cau ous than other races because the condi ons were very difficult, and I wanted to finish my last race. I focused mostly on myself in the race, and I am pleased to end with some points, certainly." 9 DANILO PETRUCCI DNF MOTOGP "That was really a pity because it was an important race for the team," Danilo Petrucci said of his crash. "Unfortunately, at the start, the launch control failed to engage, so I lost a lot of posi ons right away. I was making up places over the next few laps, and my pace was really good, but unfor- tunately, a er passing Rossi, I crashed without understanding the reason why. I feel bad about ending the champion- ship in this way, but in any case, it is s ll the best season in my career in MotoGP." Jorge Lorenzo signed off his MotoGP career with 13th. (Below) Danilo Petrucci (9) was charging hard until he crashed out, the same as Johann Zarco (5).
