Thank you for the coverage,
Cycle News! One of my favorite
times of the year and this year
is just outstanding with our
Women's World Trophy team
in first place. I'm scratching my
head about Australia's women's
team, which has dominated this
category.
And a big shout out to the
first-place Clubs team. Wow.
Has the U.S. ever won this
category before?
Bob Close
Yes, we believe it was in 1996,
and Guy Cooper was on the
team...Editor
Appreciate the coverage, CN.
All the news every day, almost
like being there. Go USA!
Al Banta
So proud of all three USA
Teams!

Jorge Lorenzo Retires
Jorge once said, " I'm just a
working man..." Yeah, at 210
mph!

GetzenRodeo Coverage
Congratulations to Cycle News
for their coverage of the Get-
zenRodeo WESS. I think this is
one of the most challenging of
the motorcycle events, and it's
nice to see how the top enduro
riders fare, and the final stand-
ings in the WESS series.
It's great to see that the Ten-
nessee Knockout will be part of
the series next year.

Rainey Rides Again
Seeing the Rainey video would
make anyone whelm up. It
reminded me of an experience
about 15-20 years ago when I
was working for a manufacturer
at the River Run in Laughlin,
NV. We had some free time and
were riding around the Laugh-
lin, Bullhead City, Kingman area
and a young guy on a Gixxer
(Suzuki GSX-R) is following us.
He is flat getting it on. At one
stoplight he pulls up next to us,
and he is lashed to the bike like
Wayne, and as he slows down,
outriggers are deployed to keep
him upright. He was very natu-
ral on the bike. I'll never forget
that kid smoking us all on a
desolate highway in the middle
of the desert. I wonder where
he is now.

Thank You, We Will
I have been reading Cycle
News since 1969 and racing
mainly motocross, constant trail
riding, desert racing, speed-
way, TT, flat track and some
road racing. I don't think I would
ever have had the absolute fun
without Cycle News to follow
and keep up with what has
been a lifetime of motorcycle
riding and racing enjoyment.
Please keep up the good
work, I know you will.
