VOLUME 56 ISSUE 44 NOVEMBER 5, 2019 P59 whole time," said Bobbitt. "I haven't been riding that fast lately, or training like that. Evan made a mistake, so I got him by one second. But Ryder and I were really close all day so it goes back to a standard battle with a Lafferty. It was super fun today. It's always fun to be able to show up and still feel like I can go fast." Smith was disappointed at missing the podium by a second but happy for his "very good friend," Bobbitt. Lafferty was second in test two, and third in two other tests, but lost any chance at third when he got stuck on a hill and then lost his brakes in the final test, leaving him with fifth overall. Tely Energy Racing's Liam Draper rounded out the top six, which also gave the New Zealander the win in the NE Pro2 class, as well. Riding his first-ever national enduro, FXR, Bryan Easler Toyota, Kenda tires, XC gear-backed Jonathan Johnson came 33 seconds behind Draper to take sixth. Johnson was getting a taste of his first National Enduro and was impressive for a newcomer with a seventh overall and a second place in the NE Pro2 division. Ronnie Commo, the winner of the NE Pro 2 class at the previous round in Okla- homa, finished eighth overall and third in the NE Pro2 class. A pair of Japanese bikes rounded out the top-10, with Kawasaki-mounted Evan (Left) Grant Baylor made it a Baylor-brothers 1-2 in the 2019 championship. (Below) Russell Bobbitt, who won the opening round of the championship earlier this a year, finished out the season on the podium in third.
