IN THE WIND P54 MV Agusta Debuts the Brutale 1000 RR B ased on the well-received Bru- tale 1000 Series Ono unveiled at EICMA last year, the Brutale 1000 RR debuts this year as yet another premium naked superbike for the masses. The Brutale 1000 RR will feature plenty of the esthetics of the Series Ono, including a healthy helping of carbon fiber surrounding an inline- four-cylinder engine capable of 205 horsepower and 86 lb-ft of torque. This is the same engine used in the MV's F4 Superbike. The Brutale 1000 RR is only five pounds heavier than the Series Ono displaying a dry weight of 410 pounds. This slight increase in weight is due to the Brutale 1000 RR utilizing forged aluminum wheels and steel bolts over costly carbon fiber wheels and titanium bolts found on the Series Ono. Other features included a five- inch TFT display, a full electronics package, an IMU, a signature halo daytime running light, lean-angle lighting, up/down quickshifter, electronic Ohlins Suspension front and rear and carbon fiber wing- lets that emanate off the radiator shroud. Similar to the Series Ono, Brembo Stylema calipers are found upfront and are mated to dual 320mm discs. In the rear, a two- piston caliper chomps down on a 220mm disc. Though more affordable than the Series Ono, the Brutale 1000 RR will set Europeans back 30,000 euros (approximately $33,500 USD). There is no announcement for U.S. based pricing, so we will have to wait and see if this rolling piece of track-ready artwork will be made available to American enthu- siasts. CN MV Agusta introduced its new Brutale 1000 RR this week at the EICMA Motorcycle Show in Milan. MV Agusta Announces "Affordable" Superveloce 800 L ast year at EICMA, the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 turned heads and was the talk of the show with its unique futuristic classic styl- ing and design. This year the Italian brand has announced a more affordable version of the limited edition Superveloce 800, which debuted last year. The cafe racer utilizes MV's powerful and playful inline three- cylinder engine, which boasts a wild 145 horsepower and 65 lb-ft of torque. The Superveloce 800 will come complete with the MV- ICS 2.0 electronics package but will lack full IMU support that's tra- ditionally found on MV's four-cylinder platforms. But this still means riders will enjoy an up/ down quickshifter, trac- tion control and engine braking options. Marzocchi forks and a Sachs rear shock round out the suspension pack- age, while braking comes cour- tesy of M4.34 calipers at the front with dual 320mm discs. Other features on the Super- veloce 800 include an Alcantara saddle, cruise control, spoked rims and D.I.D gold chain. The Superveloce 800 will be available in two colors; white or red with plastic fairings. Pricing for the Superveloce 800 has yet to be announced for U.S. buyers, but it will set Europe- ans back 20,000 euros ($22,300 USD). CN The MV Agusta Superveloce 800 comes with a smaller price tag.
