ore than 300 racers par-
ticipated in the inaugural
Supercross Futures AMA National
Championship the Monday follow-
ing the Monster Energy Cup at
Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas,
Nevada, October 21. When all
was said and done, 25 Super-
cross Futures National Champi-
ons were produced.
The Supercross Futures series
comprised eight events that took
place over the course of the 2019
Monster Energy Supercross sea-
son where top qualifiers earned
their spot to compete in the Fu-
tures National Championship.
Husqvarna's Kelana Hum-
phrey's, Suzuki's Casey Cochran,
Kawasaki's Dylan Cunha, Yama-
ha's Kaeden Kniffing and Michael
Mercer were some of the top
riders in Las Vegas, as they were
the only racers to accumulate
more than one title.
Overall, racing was very com-
petitive throughout the day. In the
35+ and 30+ classes, Mercer
was one of only a few riders to
sweep both motos in the class.
Mercer won both 35+ motos
but traded moto wins with Jesse
Moore (Kawasaki) in the 30+
class. However, Mercer did come
away with the overall win by win-
ning the tie-breaker second moto.
Vincent Wey also won a pair of
motos in the 65cc (7-9) class to
take the championship.
Colton Eigenmann (Suzuki)
also won both motos in the Open
A class, as did Cunha in Open C
and 250 C.
Humphrey, one of the few
double champions, topped the
65cc (10-11) class with a 1-1. He
took his other title in the 65cc
