IN THE WIND P50 Road 2 Recovery Creates Fund For Micky Dymond O n October 9, 2019 former moto- cross champion Micky Dymond sustained a traumatic brain injury when he crashed on his bicycle during a train- ing ride in Orange County, California. Even though Dymond was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, he still sustained extensive head trauma that caused subdural brain contusions and subarachnoid hemorrhaging that ren- dered Micky unconscious for nearly 15 minutes at the scene of the accident. He came to briefly, only to go back to being unconscious upon arrival at the ICU. He woke up five days later. After spending the first week unconscious in ICU, and another week in a neuro trauma unit, Dymond is now on the next steps of his road to recovery. In addition to his head injury, Micky also sustained a broken collarbone, broken ribs, damage to his hip, a deep laceration to his head and large amounts of road rash. Unfortunately, Dymond does not have medical insurance and is expected to have insurmount- able medical expenses. Therapy, coupled with a two-week stay in the hospital, and the fact that Dymond won't be able to work for months to come, all add up to a long and expensive recovery for Micky and his family. If you are able to support him, please make a tax-deductible donation to his cause. Funds donated to Dymond's cause will go directly to cover the mounting medical expenses he incurs. Please leave a positive message for Dymond on his Road 2 Recovery page. Any and all prayers and positive vibes are appreciated and needed. Micky and his family are grateful for any dona- tion. Please find the Road 2 Recovery donation page here. In addition, Road 2 Recovery and Pole Posi- tion Raceway are hosting a fundraiser at its indoor kart track in Corona, California, November 4, from 5:00 - 9:30 pm. Motocross and Supercross fans will be able to race against some of the legends in the sport to help raise money. So far Jeff Ward, David Bailey, Grant Langston, Jeff Emig, Jeremy "Twitch" Sten- berg and three-time kart national champion Billy Musgrave are among the riders who have commit- ted. The evening will be hosted by DJ Louie Ochoa with an autograph signing open to the public from 5:30 - 6:30 pm. There will be a silent and live auc- tion, tons of raffle items and more. CN Road 2 Recovery has started a fund to support injured Micky Dymond, a former AMA National Motocross Champion.
