VOLUME 56 ISSUE 42 OCTOBER 22, 2019 P43
We had a few hiccups—a few
falls—but I think that was part of
the race with everybody.
"It was good to see everybody
come together as a team," Bell
said. "Even with Ryan not being
on our team [at other races], it
was cool to see him step up and
help us out. All in all, it was a
great weekend for all of us."
The winners pounded out 58
laps of the course that was about
seven miles long and drier than
last year, though the Glen Helen
crew kept the water truck and
fire hoses going throughout to
get water on places they could
access.

as dialed in yet to this 24-hour
racing, the Chidester/Buchanan/
Purvines quartet had a relatively
uneventful ride aboard Ballow's
Kenda/VP Racing Fuels/DDC
Sprockets-sponsored YZ450FX,
completing 56 laps.
"Last year we had a bike
malfunction and I couldn't even
race," Ballow said. "This year we
just wanted to get a Pro podium
and see what we could do, come
out here and try to hang it out
and keep up with Chaparral, but
we had nothing for them. They
were super-fast this year."
As this was their first time
racing with lights on the bike, it
required some fine-tuning, like
zip-ties to adjust the angle of the
headlights.
"But the lighting was the only
issue [we had] so I think that
shows if we go all out and do the
best we can and if we don't have
any problems, we can come out
with maybe a win, hopefully, next
