Andrew Short Wins Morocco Rally

ockstar Energy Husqvarna's
Andrew Short celebrated his
career-first world championship
rally win at the 2019 Morocco
Rally (Rallye du Maroc). The win
also solidified Short's runner-up
position in the FIM Cross-Country
Rallies World Championship. (The
title had already been claimed by
Red Bull KTM's Sam Sunderland
at the previous round, the Ata-
cama Rally in Chile.)
Since retiring from supercross
and motocross racing, Short
went on to get "bit by the rally
bug" and began competing in ral-
lies, including the famous Dakar
Rally in 2017. While it has been
a learning curve, "Shorty" has
remained a favorite of American
racing fans as he navigated the
all-new terrain of rally racing.
The Morocco Rally placed a

only allowing the riders to receive
their road books minutes before
