Cluzel looked set to win after disposing of the fast starting pole man, and his teammate, Corentin Perolari (who would finish fourth), and he kept up the outward and backward pressure to another Fast Frenchman, Lucas Mahias (Kawasaki Puccetti Racing). Mahias would be second, but is not stuck in a final fourth place overall. He took a new lap record of 1:42.606 as a consolation prize. Third place, after finishing sec- ond in the previous round, was Isaac Vinales (Kallio Racing) who was just over a second behind Mahias, and 3.4 seconds back from the winner. Perolari headed up fifth-placed Caricasulo, who drew himself to within eight points of Krumme- nacher, after starting ten points down. In the championship stand- ings, with one floodlit race to go in Qatar, "Krummi" has 202 points, Caricasulo 194, Cluzel 180 and Mahias 143. Gordon Ritchie WorldSBK Race One 1.
